This article describes how you can switch between layouts for a KB Main Page. Available layouts:
Basic Layout
A great traditional layout for regular sized knowledge bases.
We use this layout on our other product Help Dialog, which by the way is a great compliment to the knowledge base. You can see the live example here of the Knowledge base.

Note: In the screenshot the search box is our Pro add-on the Advanced Search.
Tabs Layout
A great layout for larger sized knowledge bases, that require tabs to separate other products.
We use this layout on our other documentation page to separate between our add-ons and the core free plugin. You can see the live example here of the Knowledge base.

Category Focused Layout
A great layout for layouts that are more category focused. This provides a article counter beside the category title and a category focused sidebar.

Grid Layout ( PRO )
A clean layout that showcases the top categories. Users then can choose their initial topic and start reading the documentation.

Sidebar Layout ( PRO )
A layout that is geared toward the sidebar, the main page has an intro text and immediately shows all the articles in the sidebar.

There are two ways to configure the KB:
- Method 1: the Settings admin page has basic settings in a simple list format. It is a quick and easy way to configure the KB.
- Method 2: for advanced users, the Visual Editor to select sections of the page to modify using both basic and advanced settings.

Step 1 Open the Visual Editor
Step 2 Visual Editor Settings
- Click on the Gear Icon at the top
- Click on Layouts
- Choose the layout you wish to change.
- Click save.
