How To Set up a Multilingual / Bilingual Site

Multilingual plugins (multi language / dual language) typically employ three ways to allow for multiple languages for each post or page:

  • Each post or page has a copy for each language
    • For example, plugins such as WPML will allow you to create a post or page in different languages and help you switch between them.
  • All translations of a specific post or page live within that post or page and are revealed one at a time.
  • Translate single article to different languages real-time using Google Translate etc.

Our Knowledge Base plugin currently does not support plugins that use solution 1) and 2) above.

Choose one of the following options:

  •  Use our Multiple KB add-on
Using Multiple KB add on you can create one Knowledge Base for each language. Each Knowledge Base can then have its own set of articles, links and categories that you can show your users when needed.

You will have to setup your own language switcher between KBs. If you also need to have the ability to switch between articles of different languages you will need to setup a custom solution such as  Multisite Language Switcher.
